Introduction

“Civilization requires energy; not a wheel of commerce or industry would turn without it”

Well, there’s been a lot of talk about solar energy, how is it going to power our world? The World we know and inhabit derives its energy from fire. How can somebody just transform that World into something that goes on the power of the sun? But people have changed the World in the past and so can we. The thing that is to be done here is to create a new World, a community of people living on renewable energy and gradually expand that community into a city and then a country one step at a time. One small step in that direction is the Solar Boat competition this Technovanza where we’re encouraging you to use the power of the sun to run robots and perform the required tasks.

Task:

The participants are supposed to design a solar boat by using solar panels. The maximum area of solar panels will be 250mm x 250mm. The boat can be wired or wireless.

Prizes worth INR 6500 to be won.

Gameplay

Round1:

Overall timing would be considered. Maximum allowable time is 7 min.

On completion of the entire level, 1000 points will be awarded.

25 points will be deduced each time the bot is touched to align it in proper direction,i.e., penalty for hand-touch is 25 points.

For bursting the balloons, 100 points will be awarded for each balloon.

You will be disqualified if you are unable to complete the third checkpoint. (To qualify for the next level the team has to cross the third checkpoint).

The total score will be (total points gained)/(total time taken).
