Code swap is an event which tests your skill of java, C++ and C along with team work. Understanding your partner is the key in solving this challenge that involves a lot of swapping. So do you think you and your partner can live up to our challenge?
Round one: Debugging

  1. This round contains only debugging
  2. Job of both the members will be to debug program. But both program in different languages.
  3. After some time they need to swap amongst each other and debug their partners program. (There will be a lot of swapping)

Criteria for selection:
Marking will be based on time of completion and number of errors found.
Round two: Programming

  1. This round will contain only programing.
  2. Job of both the members will be to write program for the different question and in different language.
  3. After some time they will have to swap their line with his/her partner and will write the next line of code in other language. (There will be a lot of swapping)

Criteria for selection:
Marking will be based on time of completion and quality.
Round three: Debug + Program

  1. This round is mixer of previous two rounds.
  2. One member will code one program and another will debug another program in different languages.
  3. After some time they need to swap and take up their partner’s job. (There will be a lot of swapping)
  4. Number of compilation will be fixed

Criteria for selection:
Marking will be based on time of completion, quality and number of errors found. (Some more criteria might be added on the spot)

  1. There will be 3 rounds in all.
  2. The points from previous rounds will be carried forward.
  3. Prerequisite: Basic programming knowledge of java, C++ and C
  4. There can be only two members in each team. The team cannot be changed after registration.
  5. Each person can register only once.
  6. After receiving the Problem Statement the Members will not be allowed to discuss the approach to be followed.
  7. Use of comments and blank lines won’t be allowed while coding.
  8. Each Participant will write one line of code either in ‘C++’ or ‘Java’ or ‘C’ and will have to swap his line with his/her partner and will write the next line of code in other language and so on.
  9. Participants are not allowed to bring any media devices such as pen drives, CD, DVD etc.
  10. Cell phones must be switched off.
  11. All the stationeries such as pen, paper etc. will be provided.
  12. Any violation of rule may lead to disqualification of your team.
  13. Apart from these Rules, some additional rules will be disclosed on the spot.
  14. The decision of the organizers is final and binding.
  15. Eliminations will be decided depending on the number of teams.
  16. Each round will be of 15 minutes.
